Tish Shute

Tish Shute, Shaspa Advisory Board, UgotradeTish Shute is the founder of Ugotrade a blog focused on sustainable living, ubiquitous computing, augmented reality, and virtual realities in world 2.0.

Tish’s career in new media and technology began with work in motion control, robotics, and special effects for film, television, theme parks and aerospace. She continues her interest in innovation and paradigm shifts as an entrepreneur and writer.

Tish has an M.Phil. in “Culture and Media” from NYU, Dept. of Anthropology, where she pursued her interest in the uptake of new technology from a more academic POV. As Assistant Prof. of Communications, Upsala College, NJ, Tish taught a wide variety of Culture and Media Courses.

As an entrepreneur, Tish co-founded N Plus 1, Inc., a company that provided production services and key innovation in software for machine vision, image processing and motion control (cameras, lighting and optical printers). Clients included: Hughes Aircraft, R. Greenberg Assoc., Bran Ferren Corporation & The Effects House. N Plus 1’s software and production services were used to create special effects for Predator, Making Mr Right, Little Shop of Horrors, Star Trek V, Prime Time Live, and EPCOT.

More recently, Tish has worked in creative partnership development with “off the grid” communities and U.S. technology companies creating local Wi-Fi hot spots in remote areas.
